Jet Tomography Studies in AuAu Collisions at RHIC Energies
Recent RHIC results on pion production in AuAu collision at √ s = 130 and 200 AGeV display a strong suppression effect at high pT . This suppression can be connected to final state effects, namely jet energy loss induced by the produced dense colored matter. Applying our pQCD-based parton model we perform a quantitative analysis of the measured suppression pattern and determine the opacity of t...
متن کاملPion Interferometry in Auau Collisions at √ S Nn =200 Gev
We present preliminary results from a two-pion intensity interferometry analysis from Au+Au collisions at √ s NN =200 GeV measured in the STAR detector at RHIC. The dependence of the apparent pion source on multiplicity and transverse momentum are discussed and compared with preliminary results from d+Au and p+p collisions at the same beam energy.
متن کاملAGeV collisions at STAR
STAR has performed a correlation analyses of pion-kaon and pion-proton pairs for √ sNN = 130AGeV and √ sNN = 200AGeV and kaon-proton, protonLambda and pion-Cascade pairs for AuAu collisions √ sNN = 200AGeV . They show that average emission space-time points of pions, kaons and protons are not the same. These asymmetries are interpreted as a consequence of transverse radial expansion of the syst...
متن کاملInclusive Hadron Production in p+p Collisions at STAR
The STAR experiment at RHIC has measured a variety of inclusive hadron cross sections in p + p collisions at √ s = 200 GeV. Measurements of the differential cross section for inclusive charged pion production at mid rapidity and for inclusive neutral pion production at forward rapidity (3.0 < η < 4.2) as well as the first preliminary result from STAR for the differential cross section for inclu...
